Smt. Meera Ganapathy Dhanu

Mrs. Meera Ganapathy Dhanu is a versatile, disciplined and renowned dancer and choreographer in the realm of Bharatanatyam.

This vivacious and devoted personality was initiated into the world of dance by her parents at a young age of 3. She subsequently performed her Arangetram at the age of 8.  She immediately became a success story in her teens, and has carved a niche in the world of classical Bharatnatayam ever since.

She has been trained by many respected gurus such as Sri Raja Rajeshwari from Bharata Natya Kala Mandir, in Matunga, Mumbai. She has also had the privilege of learning dance from "Kalaimamani" late guru A.T. Govindaraja Pillai and "Kalaimamani" late guru T.K. Mahalingam Pillai. She is still a sincere and devoted student of "Kalaimamani" guru Kalyanasundaram Pillai.

 

Along with her sister, the famous Vani Ganapathy, she has performed over 1000 shows in India and abroad. The two sisters have also been very fortunate to perform regularly for the foreign delegates at the Rajbhavan, Mumbai. Her performances in the presence of the king and queen of Nepal, the President and Prime Minister of Romania, Bharat Ratna, M.S. Subhalakshmi, President Nelson Mandela, the late Prime Minister of India Sri Jawaharlal Nehru, late Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri, the 75th birthday of late Sri Satya Sai Baba, the Mysore Dassera festival and many more have brought accolades to her. Her latest achievements include performing at the Kalidas Mahotsav Nagpur, Akhil Bharatiya Sahitya Sammelan, Nashik, Tyagaraj festival  in Delhi in the presence of the late president of India, Abdul Kalam, for the 60th Diamond Jubilee of the school from where she started her first dance lesson. She has now established her Bharatnatyam dance academy, NRITYA SHARADA, in Nashik.

Her endeavour is to follow the tradition of her gurus and impart knowledge. Meera is very grateful to her parents and her gurus for her achievements in the world of dance. NRITYA SHARADA has seen many of their students performing their Arangetrams. Janani and her parents are ever greateful and thankful to her for blessing Janani with this divine art.

Smt. Mala Robins

Director of Bal Yeshu Bharatanatyam Academy of Dance, Nashik)

The respected late Mrs. Mala Robins has performed her Arangetram under the famous guru, Kittappa Pillai of the Tangore Quartette of Bharatanatyam. She had over 36 years of experience in Bharatanatyam.
